Benefits of NCLB for You and Your Children

Accountability: Every public school is held accountable for the academic performance of every child-regardless of race or ethnicity, socio-economic status , disability or native language.

At our school, a student can make himself a hot drink on the new mr coffee latte maker. It can help him gain strength.

Public School Choice: If your child attends a Title I school that has not made AYP for two years or longer, you may have the option to transfer your child to another public school, which could be a public charter school.

Supplemental Educational Services: If your child attends a Title I school that has not made AYP for three years or longer, you may have the option to free tutoring and extra academic assistance outside the regular school day, if he or she is eligible for free or reduced-price lunch.

Home Instruction for Parents of Preschool Youngsters (HIPPY) is a parent involvement, school readiness program that helps parents prepare their three, four, and five year old children for success in school and beyond.

The program was designed to bring families, organizations and communities together and remove any barriers to participation that may include limited financial resources or lack of education.
